Students in KNUST SHS have accused school authorities of leaving the deceased student (Owusu Ansah), who complained of stomach upset. According to students, the housemaster have the students who helped the deceased a plot of land to weed after telling them to leave him in the course of fear over Covid 19 symptoms.
Later within the day,Armed Police Officers were called in to the school’s premises to restore order. The students then started demonstrating to register their displeasure with the school’s authorities. As part of the protest, the students in KNUST SHS vandalized their headmistress saloon car.
Some students spoke live on Citynews that, “the Senior Housemaster told Owusu Ansah’s(deceased student) friends to leave him alone and get sanitizers to disinfect their hands. The students say, we demonstrated because, yesterday, one of our mates was sick and was left to his date to survive on his own because of the fear of Covid-19. They couldn’t even call any car to take him to the hospital”.
School authorities have decided to stay mute on this case.
Covid 19 pandemic has brought fear to the whole world and to our nation Ghana. Workers are afraid to attend to their sick employees because of the fear of Covid 19.
Schools has commenced for Final year students to go and write their exams and as a result of that many parents are really concerned about their wards due to the fear and panic of the virus (Covid 19).
